Conscious Parenting and The Law Of Attraction
Over the past few years there has been a lot of hype about the movie ‘The Secret’. If you haven’t watched it already, ‘The Secret’ is all about the Law of Attraction. Basically, the Law of Attraction states that, whatever you focus on you get more of, and in the words of the movie itself, ‘What you resist, persists’.
Now, before you stop reading, (for some I can understand this may be a little ‘out there’ for you), this law is backed up by hard science. The Law of Attraction is a universal law like gravity. There have been many experiments in quantum physics to prove this. A great movie if you want more info on this is ‘What The Bleep Do We Know?!’
I’m not going to go too much into the science here, there’s a video at the bottom as a little taster for those interested. But lets get down to the question; Why is this is important to us as parents?

Well according to the law, where thoughts go energy flows. Now we are all energy, millions of particles vibrating against each other. This includes our children too, and our partners, family and friends, everything in our experience. So if we focus on something we get more of it right. Which means if we focus on something in another person, we will get more of that personality trait.
How? Well we are constantly sending out energy in the form of vibration. All energy vibrates at a certain frequency. Scientists have measured peoples energy fields, and different emotions show up as different vibrations on the scale of energy.
Another premise of the Law of Attraction is that like attracts like. So if you are annoyed or down because of some negative trait in your children, or a conflict in your household, you are literally vibrating at that frequency and allowing more of it to magnetise to you.
So in order to change what you are attracting into your reality, its time to change your vibration! What is vibration? Your vibration is caused by your emotions or feelings. So how can we change our emotions? We change our thoughts!
Is this as easy as it sounds? Not always, it can be challenging for sure. But the more we practise the more results will happen.

I don’t mean that by changing our thoughts about someone that person will necessarily transform over night, although they might. But your experience of that person will change. If they are in a bad mood, and your in a positive place you’ll find that they just won’t be around unless their vibration changes to match yours.
Have you ever noticed the child who seems to behave wonderfully for other people yet they react to everything you say? Well that could be law of attraction at work too.

Why don’t you try a little experiment? Change your thinking. Start your day with positive thoughts and see what transpires. Before you get out of bed, or when you’re brushing your teeth, focus on how you want your day to be. Think of all the wonderful things that could happen, the great experiences your going to have. Do this as often as you can throughout the day for a week and see what changes you notice!
